Adam Rael specialises in two very different audience reactions: laughter and dread. His work combines cinematic visuals with a polished finish, drawing on his background in VFX and post-production to bring ambitious ideas to the screen. Beneath the visuals, however, Adam is a performance-led director who believes the strongest images begin with honest performances. Whatever the genre, his focus is always on finding the emotional truth that connects with an audience.

As a kid, I used to insist my friends play imaginary games the way I thought would be the most fun. Looking back, I guess I never really stopped doing that.
Today, I'm a director based in Dublin, working across commercials, film and television. I'm the co-founder and Creative Director of Cassette Vision, and direct commercial work through our sister company, Conker Cuts.
I'm interested in projects that feel distinct, whether that's a sharp comedy, an unsettling horror or something completely off kilter. My background in VFX gives me the confidence to tackle ambitious visuals, but I'm always most interested in performance that connects with the audience.
