SUBMISSIONS
We're always interested in discovering distinctive stories and connecting with talented creative people.
If you're a writer, director, producer or other creative with a feature film, documentary or television project you think might be right for Cassette Vision, we'd welcome an introduction. We're particularly interested in connecting with established and emerging filmmakers who can demonstrate a distinctive body of work and a compelling project.
We operate an initial project enquiry process rather than an open submissions policy. This allows us to learn a little about you and your project before deciding whether we'd like to explore it further. Please read the FAQ below before submitting.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
No. Please do not attach or link to scripts, pitch decks, treatments, series bibles, visual references or other project materials unless we have specifically invited you to submit them.
Unsolicited materials will be deleted without being read, even if you have agreed to these terms.
-
You may include a brief logline or short synopsis in the body of your email, provided you explicitly confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.
Please outright state:
“I confirm that I have read and agree to Cassette Vision Limited's Submission Guidelines and Terms: https://cassette.ie/dev-submission-terms.“
This is intended to give us a basic understanding of your project without requiring you to share substantial creative material.
-
Any project information shared without an explicit written statement confirming agreement to these terms will be deleted without review.
Attachments, links and other project materials sent without an invitation will also be deleted without review, regardless of whether you have agreed to the terms.
-
We expect people approaching us to have an established creative practice and a demonstrable body of work relevant to their discipline.
This doesn't necessarily mean extensive industry credits. Previous produced work, festival selections, published writing, professional collaborations, development experience or other substantial creative achievements can all demonstrate your experience.
We're interested in emerging talent, but we're not an open submissions platform for first-time writers or filmmakers without an established body of work.
-
No. All unsolicited development enquiries must be sent exclusively to collab@cassette.ie.
Emails sent directly to individual team members or any other Cassette Vision email address with unsolicited project ideas or materials will not be considered and will be deleted without review.
Please do not contact our team members individually about unsolicited projects.
-
No. Agreeing to these terms simply establishes the basis on which we receive and evaluate your initial enquiry.
We are not obliged to review, respond to, provide feedback on or pursue any project. If we are interested in learning more, we will contact you.
-
If we would like to explore your project further, we may invite you to submit additional information or materials.
Any further submission will be subject to the applicable terms and any specific arrangements agreed with Cassette Vision.
-
Yes. You retain ownership of your work and any intellectual property rights you hold in it. Sending an enquiry or invited submission does not transfer ownership or grant Cassette Vision the right to exploit your work.
Any future development or commercial arrangement would require a separate agreement.
-
No. Unless we expressly agree otherwise in a separate written agreement signed by an authorised representative of Cassette Vision, initial enquiries and invited submissions are considered non-confidential.
Please do not send information that you are unwilling to share on this basis.
-
Yes, provided you clearly identify it as adapted IP and have the necessary rights or authority to share and propose the material.
Please indicate the underlying work and your relationship to it in your introductory email.
-
Our development enquiries are intended for creatives who have already demonstrated their ability and commitment to their craft.
We're unlikely to be the right development partner for someone approaching us with their first screenplay or an early-stage idea without relevant previous experience. We'd encourage you to continue developing your craft, build a portfolio and establish a body of work before approaching us.
-
Not necessarily. We recognise that different creative disciplines have different routes into the industry.
For example, a writer may demonstrate their ability through published work, previous writing credits or professional development experience, while a director may demonstrate theirs through completed films, commercials or other directing work.
What matters is that you can demonstrate your creative ability and have a track record relevant to the project you're proposing.

WHAT INTERESTS US
We're drawn to high-concept ideas with something to prove. Stories that make people sit up when they're pitched, worlds that invite further exploration, and concepts with the potential to reach audiences well beyond their starting point.
LIVE ACTION
We're particularly interested in horror and genre films built around a strong, marketable premise. We love the challenge of finding ideas that can be made on a modest budget but have the potential to travel internationally, find an audience and grow into something bigger. We're interested in stories with franchise potential, but it starts with a concept compelling enough to stand on its own.
When we meet writers, we want to know about the story they're almost bursting to tell. The one they get carried away pitching. The idea that's a little mad, a little ambitious, and impossible for them to stop thinking about.
ANIMATION
For animated series, we're interested in high-concept worlds with room to grow. Ideas that can sustain multiple stories, introduce audiences to unexpected characters and places, and keep revealing new possibilities as the world expands.
For animated features, we're equally interested in strong concepts, but also in projects where the design, visual language or creative process is fundamental to the idea itself. We're drawn to work where the way a film is made is inseparable from what makes it special.
We're passionate about documentary stories that challenge the status quo, explore the realities of people's lives and shine a light on experiences too often overlooked. From questions of identity and belonging to stories of resilience, inequality and human connection, we're drawn to filmmakers who want their work to make people think, feel and see the world differently.
