Submission Guidelines and Terms
Last updated: 14 October 2026
1. Getting in Touch
Cassette Vision Limited is an independent Irish development and production company developing original feature films, documentaries and television series.
We welcome introductions from writers, directors and other creatives interested in exploring potential collaborations with us. If you have a project you think might be a good fit, please introduce yourself by email at info@cassette.ie, tell us a little about yourself and describe your project in a single line.
Please write in your own words. We value genuine introductions and do not accept AI-generated or AI-assisted introductory emails.
Please do not send unsolicited scripts, pitch decks, treatments or other project materials by email. Unsolicited materials will be deleted without review. An introductory email does not constitute an invitation to submit project materials.
If we are interested in learning more about your project, we may invite you to share further information. Any invitation is at our discretion and does not guarantee that we will review, develop or pursue the project.
2. Ownership and Permission to Review
You retain ownership of your submitted work and any intellectual property rights you hold in it. Cassette Vision does not claim ownership of materials simply because you submit them.
For invited submissions, you grant Cassette Vision permission to receive, store and review the materials solely for the purpose of evaluating the submission and considering potential collaboration. This permission does not grant Cassette Vision any licence or other right to develop, produce, adapt, distribute, commercialise or otherwise exploit your work.
Any future use of your material would require an appropriate separate agreement or other valid legal basis.
You should only submit materials that you have the right and authority to share with us, including any necessary permissions from co-authors, co-creators or other relevant rights holders.
3. Non-Confidentiality
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in a separate written agreement signed by an authorised representative of Cassette Vision, invited submissions are considered non-confidential and are not submitted on the basis of any obligation of confidence.
Please do not submit material that you are unwilling to share on this basis.
This provision sets out the basis on which Cassette Vision receives submissions. It does not exclude any legal obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded.
4. Independent Development and Similar Material
Cassette Vision develops original projects and receives information about creative projects from a variety of sources. We may already be developing, or may independently develop in the future, projects that are similar to or overlap with submitted material. We may also receive similar or identical material from other writers, creators, representatives or third parties.
Similarity or overlap alone does not establish that material has been copied from a submission, transfer ownership of your work to Cassette Vision, or create any obligation on the part of Cassette Vision to you.
Nothing in these terms authorises Cassette Vision to infringe valid intellectual property rights. These terms do not transfer ownership of your work or grant us permission to exploit copyright-protected material without the necessary rights or permission.
5. No Obligation to Review or Proceed
An introduction or submission does not oblige Cassette Vision to:
Review or respond to a submission.
Provide feedback, notes, compensation or other payment.
Enter into discussions or negotiations.
Develop, produce, finance, represent, option, acquire, distribute or otherwise pursue a project.
Enter into any agreement or business relationship with the person submitting the material.
We cannot guarantee that every introduction or invited submission will be reviewed, or that we will respond within a particular timeframe. If we wish to discuss a project further, we will contact you.
6. No Transfer of Rights Through Submission
No option, licence, assignment, representation arrangement, partnership or other rights agreement is created simply by sending an email, sharing materials, receiving an invitation to submit or receiving a response from Cassette Vision.
Any proposed collaboration, acquisition, option, licence or other commercial arrangement will be subject to separate terms agreed between the relevant parties.
7. Unsolicited Materials
Materials sent without an invitation or outside an agreed submission process will not be reviewed and may be deleted without notice.
Receipt of unsolicited materials does not mean that Cassette Vision has accepted them for consideration or agreed to any confidentiality, development or other obligation in relation to them, subject to applicable law and any obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded.
If you wish to introduce yourself or your project, please contact info@cassette.ie without attaching scripts, pitch decks, treatments or other project materials.
8. Acceptance and Records
Where Cassette Vision invites you to submit materials, we may ask you to confirm in writing that you have read and agree to these terms before sending them.
We may retain a record of the invitation, your acceptance, the applicable version of these terms, the date of receipt and the materials submitted. These records may be retained for legitimate business, administrative and legal purposes, subject to applicable data protection law.
9. Personal Information
When you contact us or submit materials following an invitation, we may process personal information such as your name, email address, professional details and correspondence to respond to your enquiry and manage potential professional relationships.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection law and our Privacy Policy.
You may exercise your applicable data protection rights, including requesting access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, subject to the conditions and exceptions provided by law.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information about the purposes and lawful basis of processing, data retention, recipients and your rights.
10. Changes to These Terms
Cassette Vision may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page will apply prospectively to new enquiries and submissions, subject to applicable law and any separate written agreement already in place.
Where we have invited a submission subject to a particular version of these terms, we will retain a record of the applicable version and the circumstances of that submission. Updates to this page do not automatically change the terms applicable to an earlier submission.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, subject to any mandatory legal provisions that apply.
