Submission Guidelines and Terms

1. What We're Looking For

Cassette Vision Limited develops original feature films, documentaries and television projects across live action and animation. We're interested in distinctive ideas, strong creative voices and stories with a clear reason to exist.

Please submit projects that you believe genuinely fit our work and approach. We cannot guarantee that every submission will be reviewed individually, receive a response or receive feedback.

2. What to Send

If you wish to submit a project, please send a script, treatment, pitch deck or other relevant materials in PDF format, alongside a brief explanation of the project and why you want to make it.

Please only send material you are authorised to share. Do not send original physical materials, confidential information belonging to another party or material that you are contractually prohibited from disclosing.

3. Personal Statements and AI

Please write your submission statements and correspondence in your own words. We'd much rather read a short, honest explanation of your project and why it matters to you than a lengthy, AI-generated statement optimised to sound impressive but tell us very little.

You don't need polished industry language or a pitch that claims to be the next big thing. Tell us what the project is, what makes it distinctive, and why you want to make it. A few genuine sentences are worth more to us than a page of AI-generated enthusiasm.

If you have used generative AI in developing or writing the submitted material, please be transparent about how you used it. This allows us to understand how the work was developed and what material is original to you.

4. Ownership and Authority

You retain ownership of the intellectual property rights you own in your submitted materials. Sending material to Cassette Vision does not, by itself, transfer ownership of those rights to us.

By submitting material, you confirm that you have the right and authority to share it with us and, to the best of your knowledge, that doing so does not infringe another person's rights or breach any contractual, confidentiality or other legal obligation.

If you are submitting on behalf of another writer, creator, rights holder or organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.

You are responsible for obtaining any permissions necessary to share third-party material included in your submission.

5. Non-Confidential Submissions

All unsolicited submissions are made on a non-confidential basis. By sending us material, you acknowledge that Cassette Vision is not accepting it under an obligation of confidence, and you should not send information that you are not authorised to disclose.

This provision is intended to establish the conditions under which unsolicited material is received. It does not exclude any legal obligation that cannot lawfully be excluded, nor does it grant Cassette Vision rights that it would not otherwise have.

6. Similar Ideas and Independent Development

Cassette Vision develops original projects, works with writers and other creatives, and receives material from a variety of sources. We may already be developing, or may independently develop, commission, acquire, receive or consider projects or material that resemble or overlap with a submission.

Such similarities may arise from shared genres, themes, premises, settings, character types, source material, industry trends or independent creative development.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, similarity between your submission and any project or material considered, developed, acquired or produced by Cassette Vision does not, by itself, establish that your submission has been used or copied.

Nothing in these terms prevents Cassette Vision from independently developing or pursuing projects or material merely because they share general ideas, themes, concepts or other elements with a submission.

Nothing in this section authorises the unauthorised copying or use of copyright-protected expression, confidential information or other legally protected material.

7. No Obligation to Review, Develop or Engage

Sending us material does not oblige Cassette Vision to read, review, retain, respond to, provide feedback on, develop, produce, finance, distribute, represent, option, acquire, commission or otherwise use the submission.

We do not guarantee that we will enter into discussions or that any discussions will lead to a collaboration or agreement.

Unless and until a separate agreement is entered into by the relevant parties, submission does not create a partnership, agency, employment, representation, producer attachment, joint venture or other business relationship between you and Cassette Vision.

No fee, payment, credit, royalty, compensation or other benefit is due merely because material has been submitted, reviewed or discussed. Any such arrangement must be agreed separately in writing.

8. Retention and Deletion

Please retain your own copies of all submitted materials. Cassette Vision is not obliged to return submissions or retain them for any particular period.

We may delete or securely dispose of submitted materials in accordance with our internal procedures and applicable legal obligations. We may retain limited records where reasonably necessary for administrative, legal, accounting, security or dispute-resolution purposes.

Personal data associated with submissions will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection law and our privacy notice.

9. Submissions by Email or Other Means

These guidelines apply to unsolicited creative materials sent to Cassette Vision Limited, including materials received by email, through our website or through an intermediary.

If you contact us to ask whether we are open to receiving a submission, please wait for confirmation before sending the materials.

We may decline to consider submissions that do not fit our current interests, that we are not in a position to review, or that we cannot accept under our internal procedures.

10. Governing Law

These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of Ireland, subject to any mandatory legal requirements that apply. Any dispute concerning their interpretation or enforceability will be dealt with by the courts having appropriate jurisdiction.

If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
