LEO funding v.1 - 27th November 2024
-
Cassette Vision operates in the media and entertainment sector, focusing on:
Video Production: Producing commercials, corporate videos, branded documentaries, music videos, and virtual production projects.
Visual Effects (VFX) and CGI: Producing high-quality visual effects for clients. Our capacity is currently limited by the quantity of workload we can take on, but we are in negotiations on being VFX producers for a feature film. We are trained in the area of virtual production and are looking to target this niche in the future too.
Film and TV Production: Creating our own narrative films and series is the direction Cassette would like to go. We have just secured our first Screen Ireland development funding for a documentary feature.
Animation: After being sponsors of the Dublin Animation Film Festival 2024, we are moving into animation. We are in production on our first mixed-media stop motion proof of concept piece. We are waiting on confirmation from two applications from Screen Ireland and the NTA in regards an animated series funding and a short film funding.
Stunt and Action Design: Providing previsualisation, on-set stunt supervision, and digital asset development through Double Vision (this area of our business is in very early stage development, and will require multiple innovation vouchers/ taking part in a business development course).
-
Cassette Vision is a multi-media company, with it’s largest focus being on video production. As a multi-skilled team we provide services from conceptualisation through to final delivery across all scales of production, and in multiple forms.
We produce:
• Commercials (TVC, Social-Media, Branded Content, Digital OOH)
• Corporate Video (B2B, B2C, Interviews, Infographics)
• Creative (Narrative, Documentaries, Music Videos, Virtual Production)
• Audio Services (Original Music, Sound Recording, Sound Design)
• Photography (Fashion, Sports, Product, Lifestyle)
• VFX (Motion Design, Title Sequences)
• Editing Retainers: (Youtubers)
-
In the long term, Cassette Vision aims to shift its focus towards IP generation through feature films and TV series, adopting a business model similar to Blumhouse Productions. This approach will emphasise low-budget, high-concept projects with a strong emphasis on creative control and profit participation, creating a sustainable and highly profitable production ecosystem. By focusing first on Ireland, Cassette Vision will bring Irish cinema to the international stage, particularly in genre cinema.
Subsidiaries Overview: Cassette Vision will develop two subsidiaries: Cassette FX and Double Vision. Combat Vision will be a key service provided by Double Vision, and because of it, Double Vision will the first subsidiary due to its high commercial viability, and its expansion will facilitate the separation of Cassette FX and Double Vision from Cassette Vision.
Cassette FX: Cassette FX's business model will be comparable to Wētā FX, offering high-end visual effects and CGI services. The services provided will include:
Trained on-set supervisors for VFX and practical effects
VFX/CGI for high-end productions
Video game cinematic sequences
Practical effects for high productions
Double Vision: Double Vision will follow a business model similar to The Third Floor, specialising in pre-production and post-visualisation for high-end productions. Its services will encompass:
Pre-production and post-visualisation for high productions
Virtual production
Simulcam, motion capture, and VR/AR visualization
Pitch-vis for movies, TV shows, live TV, and video games
Techvis
Theme park/venue visualisation
Combat Vision will pioneer a unique approach to high-end stunt pre-visualisation integrated with VFX components. Founded in collaboration with Irish stunt performer Philip Condron, Combat Vision will leverage Condron's growing international reputation, his stunt school, and his work with the Jackie Chan Stunt Team in China.
Unlike existing competitors like Brotherhood Action Design in Spain, which integrates some VFX into their work for major studios like Marvel, HBO, Disney, and Netflix, Combat Vision aims to push the boundaries further. Micah Moore's work in pre-visualisation using Unreal Engine aligns with this direction, but Combat Vision intends to advance even beyond this.
Combat Vision's services will include:
Fight and stunt pre-production visualisation (standard and VFX enhanced)
Fight pre-vis digital assets
On-set stunt supervision and VFX supervision
On-set stunt team and second unit film team
Combat Vision's most distinctive selling point will be its ecosystem of integrated services for national and international clients. By consolidating various services under one roof, it will reduce the need for multiple vendors, streamline processes, and ensure seamless communication and management across all stages of production. This holistic approach will enhance efficiency and deliver a superior product to clients, making Combat Vision a one-stop solution for high-quality stunt work and VFX integration.
-
Cassette Vision aims to revolutionise genre cinema in Ireland by addressing two primary challenges:
Lack of Internationally Appealing Genre Cinema:
Problem: Ireland has a rich history of film-making, but there is a gap when it comes to producing genre cinema that appeals to international audiences. This limits the global reach and marketability of Irish films.
Solution: Cassette Vision will infuse Irish cinema with a more internationally appealing sensibility. By leveraging our expertise in VFX and CGI, we can elevate the production values of genre films, making them competitive on a global scale. Our subsidiary, Cassette FX, specialises in creating high-quality visual effects and digital content, ensuring that even lower-budget projects can achieve a polished, professional look that meets international standards.
Challenges in Producing Stunt and Combat-Heavy Productions:
Problem: International film and TV productions often face logistical and practical challenges when it comes to producing stunt and combat-oriented projects in Ireland. This can lead to increased costs, safety concerns, and a lack of specialised talent.
Solution: Double Vision/ Combat Vision is designed to address these challenges head-on. As a previsualisation and stunt-focused company, Double Vision (and through the service of Combat Vision) will provide comprehensive support for stunt and combat productions, including:
Previsualisation for Stunt Work: Offering detailed action design, fight pre-vis, and general stunt-related pre-vis to ensure seamless planning and execution.
Development of Digital Assets: Creating high-quality digital assets related to stunts, enhancing the visual impact and safety of productions.
On-Set Stunt and VFX Supervision: Providing expert supervision to ensure stunts are performed safely and effectively, with integrated VFX support.
Stunt Teams and Second Unit Film Teams: Supplying skilled stunt professionals and dedicated film units to handle complex action sequences.
By integrating these specialised services, Double Vision will make Ireland a viable and attractive location for international productions requiring extensive stunt work. Additionally, through the collaboration with Philip Condron’s stunt school, we will train and integrate local talent into our projects, fostering a skilled workforce and further solidifying Ireland's reputation in the global film industry.
Symbiotic Synergy
Cassette Vision, alongside its subsidiaries Cassette FX and Double Vision, will work in symbiotic synergy to deliver comprehensive support across all stages of production:
Cassette FX: Focused on VFX/CGI, practical effects, and game cinematics, ensuring that our projects have top-notch visual quality.
Double Vision: Specialising in pre-production and post-production visualisation, virtual production, and pitch-vis, providing cutting-edge technology and expertise to enhance storytelling and production efficiency.
By combining these strengths, Cassette Vision not only solves the problem of limited international appeal in Irish genre cinema but also removes barriers for stunt and combat-heavy productions, making Ireland a hub for high-quality, internationally appealing film and TV projects.
-
Cassette Vision as a media production company had begun in 2021 and has been producing commercials, digital OOH content, corporate videos (B2B, B2C), documentaries, music videos, audio services, photography and VFX for clients since. Some of our clients include Tesco Ireland, PepsiCo, Netflix, Coca-Cola, 7UP, Walkers, Wotsits, SOSU, Doritos, RealTime, 7Yellow, the BBC, and Dublin Bus.
In relation to our future endeavour, Double Vision/ Combat Vision, we would still be pre-trading, but here are details of our progress into having a prototype or product.
Cassette Vision’s Expansion into Visual Effects:
2022: Cassette Vision began expanding its ventures into the visual effects (VFX) industry. During this period, we collaborated with Mo-Sys Engineering, a leader in virtual production technology. Our lead VFX artist, Jack Quinn, brought his expertise from working on high-profile projects such as Doctor Who and two Netflix shows. This foundation laid the groundwork for our current VFX capabilities.
2022 - Present: We successfully produced VFX work for major brands, including online digital campaigns for PepsiCo and SOSU Cosmetics. These projects showcase our ability to deliver high-quality visual effects for diverse clients. We are currently in post-production on our largest TVC advert to date - which utilises VFX to integrate stop motion work.
Philip Condron’s Stunt Expertise:
2018: Philip Condron launched his career in the stunt industry, quickly establishing himself as a skilled stunt performer.
2020: Philip transitioned into stunt design by founding Condron Action Design, where he specialised in creating innovative and safe stunt sequences.
https://www.condronactiondesign.com
2022: He founded Ireland's first screen fighting school, Screen Combat, dedicated to training the next generation of stunt professionals.
https://www.condronactiondesign.com/school
Formation of Combat Vision:
Early 2024: Cassette Vision and Philip Condron began collaborating, combining our expertise in VFX and stunt work. This partnership aimed to create a unique solution for international film and TV productions seeking to produce stunt and combat-oriented projects in Ireland.
2024: The concept of Combat Vision materialised, blending our strengths in visual effects and stunt design to offer comprehensive previsualisation, on-set supervision, and digital asset development for action-heavy productions. We together want to craft a service that addresses the specific needs of high-calibre film and television productions.
-
We have components of our final offering ready and plan to develop showcases over the 2025. By utilising the Innovation Voucher, we will collaborate with IADT faculty to explore advanced VFX integration options. We have been in frequent conversation regarding their incoming motion capture equipment, and they wish us to utilise it once it is installed.
-
Currently, we sell to customers both directly and through agencies. Much of our past work has come through a smaller agency, 7Yellow (now going by Rockshot Studios). We are fostering a strong relationship with Showrunner lead creatives, who we expect to become our largest income stream in the coming future for Cassette Vision's commercial video productions. Additionally, we are expanding our customer relationship management (CRM) system and intensifying our direct sales efforts. We also work with a freelancer with whom we have an agreed-upon commission system to further support our sales.
Selling Strategy for Double Vision/ Combat Vision
In relation to Combat Vision, we will only begin selling our services in that area after we have raised the required capital. Once the capital is secured, we will leverage Philip Condron's extensive international contacts to establish meetings and build our client base. Our strategy will involve targeting high-profile film executive producers and established producers who specialise in action and stunt-oriented projects.
To accomplish this, we will:
Leverage Existing Relationships: Utilise Philip's connections within the stunt and action design industry to set up introductions and meetings with key decision-makers.
Targeted Outreach: Identify and reach out to executive producers and established producers known for their work on action-packed films and TV shows, presenting Combat Vision's unique capabilities and services.
Showcase Our Expertise: Develop compelling pitch materials, including a high-end narrative short film that highlights our integrated skillsets in VFX, stunt design, and virtual production.
Networking Events: Attend industry events, film festivals, and production conferences to network with potential clients and showcase our offerings.
Personalised Pitches: Create customised presentations for each targeted producer, demonstrating how Combat Vision can enhance their specific projects with our advanced stunt and action design capabilities.
-
Currently, Cassette Vision generates revenue on a project-by-project basis. We are in discussions with an online platform to begin to produce videos with them in 2025. Currently our discussions with them is in regards equity, which should lead to a growing passive income for the business in the future. In 2025 I want to see about landing some monthly editing retainer services - to help stabilise our cash flow through the entire year.
We plan to bring our freelancer, John Dillon Breen, on board full-time when it becomes financially viable. We are choosing John as our first employee of Cassette Vision as he is multi-skilled, has a background in editing YouTube content and is adept at sales. Freeing this time up will enable our CEO, Adam Rael, to concentrate on securing larger projects and allow our visual effects lead, Jack Quinn, to focus on VFX work, out-of-home (OOH) digital content and producing assets for Double Vision's funding.
Combat Vision
For Double Vision, revenue generation will also be on a project-by-project basis. However, the scale of these projects will be significantly larger than those Cassette Vision is currently pursuing. With the capital raised for Combat Vision, we plan to utilise the necessary space as a secondary income stream through space rental. Additionally, we aim to enhance brand awareness for both Cassette Vision and Combat Vision in the Irish and international markets by leveraging any opportunities that arise from this space.
By diversifying our revenue streams and focusing on larger, high-impact projects, we aim to secure a robust financial foundation for both Cassette Vision and Combat Vision.

Cassette Vision operates within the production company market, a competitive and challenging sector. Despite the difficulties, we are rapidly establishing our reputation through our innovative VFX-enhanced work. We believe that our path to achieving larger-scale productions lies in the growth and success of Combat Vision as a service.
Combat Vision stands out due to its unique focus on stunt pre-visualization—a rare offering in Europe and virtually unprecedented in Ireland. By integrating advanced VFX with stunt and combat visuals, we are creating a business model that is both distinctive and compelling. This specialised focus allows us to cater to a niche market that is currently underrepresented, positioning us to attract clients who require cutting-edge solutions for action-oriented projects.
Additionally, industry trends indicate a significant shift in Ireland's film funding landscape. There are rumours that the Irish government is reallocating substantial funds from film production to training initiatives, preparing for an expected surge in large-scale film and TV productions. Ireland’s growing reputation as a prime filming location—highlighted by the success of productions like Netflix’s Wednesday, the popularity of the Game of Thrones franchise, and Cillian Murphy’s Oscar win for Oppenheimer—is driving increased international interest.
Despite the influx of international projects and the establishment of new studio stages, there remains a gap in skilled crew members. Combat Vision is poised to address this gap by offering specialised services in stunt and combat pre-visualisation, thus helping Ireland compete more effectively in the global film industry.
-
Cassette Vision and Combat Vision are targeting several key export markets, each offering significant opportunities for growth:

Streaming Platforms and Digital Content Creators:

Our VFX and stunt services are well-suited to meet the needs of these platforms, which are constantly seeking fresh and captivating content.
Geographic Focus: This market is global, with a strong emphasis on the United States, where many of these streaming services are headquartered and produce a significant portion of their content.
Advertising and Commercials:
Primary Focus: We aim to target global brands and advertising agencies looking for innovative and visually striking commercials and branded content. Our expertise in VFX and creative video production can help these clients stand out in a competitive market.
Geographic Focus: We are targeting major advertising markets, including the United States, UK, and Europe, where high-budget advertising campaigns are prevalent.
Video Game Industry:
Primary Focus: As the video game industry continues to expand, there is increasing demand for high-quality cinematic content and VFX integration in games. Our services in visual effects and stunt design can cater to game developers and publishers looking to enhance their game cinematics and in-game visuals.
Geographic Focus: Major gaming hubs such as the United States, Japan, South Korea, and the UK are key targets.
By targeting these export markets, Cassette Vision and Combat Vision aim to leverage their unique offerings and establish a strong international presence, driving growth and expanding their reach in the global entertainment and media industry.

Cassette Vision - Production Company
Our long-term vision for Cassette Vision is to carve a niche in genre cinema based and filmed in Ireland. We plan to emulate Blumhouse's model of producing high-quality, lower-budget films to achieve higher returns. Additionally, we aim to establish an ecosystem that allows for the creation of superior content at reduced costs. This ecosystem will seamlessly integrate our various divisions, fostering a collaborative environment that enhances production efficiency and creativity.
Cassette Vision - Commercials Production
Commercials will not be our primary income stream, allowing us to be selective with our projects. This selectivity enables us to adopt a boutique approach, focusing on creating highly engaging, audience-centric work. Our goal is to produce commercials that stand out for their creativity and impact, thereby attracting clients who value quality and innovation over volume.
Cassette Vision/Cassette FX - VFX + Digital OOH
In the digital Out-Of-Home (OOH) advertising sector, we already exceed international quality standards, and this will continue to improve as we expand our team. While we do not plan to grow our VFX team until necessary for Combat Vision, our ecosystem allows for the progressive training of VFX artists. These artists will start with Combat Vision, move through Double Vision, and eventually transition to Cassette FX as they develop their skills. Our unique approach of combining practical effects with digital VFX, inspired by Wētā FX, is rare in Europe and unprecedented in Ireland. This approach simplifies the vendor list for international producers and ensures that effects are handled with the best-suited techniques.
Combat Vision - Stunt and Action Design
Combat Vision's unique focus on stunt and combat pre-visualisation, integrated with advanced VFX, already will set us apart on the international stage. With Philip Condron and his growing relationship with the Jackie Chan Stunt Team, we can immediately attract top-tier international stunt talent. Our ability to integrate VFX components such as motion capture, 3D scanning, environmental scanning, and 3D digital design further enhances our appeal. This comprehensive offering positions Combat Vision as the clear choice for productions seeking cutting-edge stunt and action design services.
-
Our project is uniquely challenging to duplicate due to several factors:
Established Relationships and Talent Access:
We have established strong relationships with top-tier talent and industry professionals, including Philip Condron's growing connection with the Jackie Chan Stunt Team. These relationships grant us access to exceptional talent and expertise that would be difficult for newcomers to replicate quickly.
Unique Business Ecosystem:
Our ecosystem approach, which includes the gradual development and integration of VFX artists through Combat Vision, Pre-Vision, and Cassette FX, creates a pipeline of highly skilled professionals. This structured progression ensures consistent quality and expertise that is hard to mirror without significant time and investment.
Specialised Market Focus:
Combat Vision’s niche focus on stunt and combat pre-visualization combined with VFX is a rare offering, especially in Europe. Our specialised services are tailored to meet the specific needs of action-oriented productions, providing a level of expertise and customisation that generalist companies cannot easily replicate.
Integrated Expertise Across Multiple Domains:
Cassette Vision and Combat Vision leverage a rare combination of skills and expertise across film production, VFX, and stunt/action design. This integration allows us to provide a comprehensive suite of services that few companies can match. Our ability to blend practical stunts with advanced VFX seamlessly is a significant differentiator.
Location:
Ireland's increasing recognition as a prime filming location, coupled with government funding reallocations towards training and infrastructure, positions us advantageously within the industry.
Together, these factors create significant barriers to entry for potential competitors and establish Combat Vision as leaders in the field.

Cassette Vision
I believe to help establish Cassette Vision we only need €34,500. How this would be spent would be:

To enhance our technical capabilities, we need to upgrade our PC to handle more complex VFX and editing tasks. This upgrade will improve our efficiency and the quality of our output.
Long Term Server (€1,000):
We have already began making a long-term server solution, but a little more investment will ensure that our data storage and management are robust and secure, supporting our growing volume of high-resolution video files and VFX assets.
Film Production Equipment (€9,500):
Upgrading our film production equipment to the necessary standard will enable us to produce higher quality content. This includes cameras, and lighting equipment to meet the demands of our clients and projects.
Cash Flow Stabilisation (€5,000):

Allocating funds for legal and accounting services is essential for ensuring compliance, managing contracts, and maintaining financial health. Professional advice will help us navigate the complexities of business operations.
Employee Wages (€15,000):
Covering the first four months of wages for our first full-time employee will allow us to onboard a key team member who will contribute significantly to our growth. This investment in human resources is critical for expanding our capabilities and taking on larger projects.
This funding allocation will enable us to upgrade our technical infrastructure, enhance our production quality, stabilise our financial position, ensure legal and accounting compliance, and support the expansion of our team. Each of these elements is essential for our growth and success in the competitive production and VFX market.
Total = €34,500
-
Combat Vision
I believe to help establish Combat Vision, at it's full capability, we need €2,480,000. How this would be spent would be:
Salaries (€270,000):
Covering salaries for 2 years of development time for 3 key employees at €45,000 each per year.
Property (€1,700,000):
Purchasing a property that meets the physical requirements of our operations and is in an optimal location for international clients. This investment will provide the necessary space for our productions and create a professional environment for client visits. The price comes from this example, which we believe could supply the type of space we would require.
Tech and Gear Purchase (€150,000):
Investing in state-of-the-art technology and gear essential for high-quality stunt and VFX production. This includes cameras, motion capture equipment, VFX software, and other necessary tools.
Showcase Productions (€100,000):
Budget for creating showcase productions that utilise international stunt performers. These showcases will demonstrate our capabilities to potential clients and help us establish a strong reputation in the market.
Cash Flow (€50,000):
Maintaining a cash flow buffer to ensure smooth operations and financial stability. This reserve will help us manage expenses and unexpected costs without disrupting our projects.
Legal and Accounting (€30,000):
Allocating funds for legal and accounting services to ensure compliance, manage contracts, and maintain financial health. Professional legal and accounting support is crucial for navigating the complexities of business operations.
Total Funding Required: €2,300,000
This funding allocation will enable us to secure the necessary resources, infrastructure, and talent to establish Combat Vision as a leading entity in the stunt and VFX industry. By investing in these critical areas, we can create a solid foundation for growth, attract international clients, and deliver high-quality productions that set us apart from the competition.
-
We plan to raise the required funding of €2,300,000 through a combination of the following sources:
Venture Capital Firms:
We will try to target venture capital firms that specialise in media, entertainment, and technology. These firms often have the resources and expertise to invest in innovative projects like Combat Vision.
Government Grants and Incentives:
We intend to apply for government grants and incentives available for creative industries in Ireland and the EU.
Private Investors:
We will reach out to private investors who have an interest in the film, television, and entertainment industries. This includes high-net-worth individuals and angel investors who can see the potential in our unique business model and growth prospects.
Strategic Partnerships:
Forming strategic partnerships with established production companies, studios, and international film bodies. These entities may be interested in investing in Combat Vision to gain access to our unique stunt and VFX capabilities.
By diversifying our funding sources, we aim to secure the necessary capital while also building a network of supportive stakeholders who are invested in our success.
