EURO - CHILDREN

Euro-Children explores the Euro-Children Holiday Scheme in Northern Ireland from 1978-1999; a charity which allowed children a chance to escape the sectarian violence by staying with a family in Europe for the Summer. 40 years later, I found some of these former participants and took them back to to see their host families. This documentary explores refuge, belonging, and coming to terms with generational trauma.

WHISKEY MICK

Whiskey Mick is an intimate portrait of an Irishman whose homemade spirits are steeped in memory, conflict, and resilience. From learning to brew in a school science lab to distilling powerful liquor on a kibbutz in Israel during years of political unrest, Mick reflects on the origins of his craft and the realities that shaped it. Nicknamed “Whiskey Mick” by fellow volunteers, he found camaraderie and coping in the ritual of making and sharing drink amid rocket attacks and the haunting remnants of 1948.

Now back home, he has perfected his process. He does not sell his spirits. He gives them away. For Mick, distilling is not about intoxication but about connection, generosity, and quietly transforming raw ingredients into something that brings people together.
